As value communicators, we all face challenges in having a relevant conversation with customers.  Over the past year, we’ve been asked to help improve influence and insights that sellers, consultants, and service professionals bring. The challenge we’re finding is two fold.  First, an out-dated view of business. Or second, a lack of basic business understanding.  Both of these challenges are related to a lack of business acumen.  Business acumen is often identified by sales managers and sales leaders are critical to success in client facing roles.

In this podcast, Brian and Tim explore how value communicators need to adjust and improve their business acumen in order to show up to the customer.  They start with the basics of any business, and explore how each has been impacted in the changing business environment.  They also offer 3 specific tips that anyone can use to share their business acumen with customers.

    Great insight guys – as always. Your words and teaching have really opened up my mind to approach sales in a whole new way. Truly. I have a lot more confidence that I really can bring value to C-Suite individuals when I take the time to “do my homework” and put myself in a position to understand their POV.
